On April 25 and 26, 2022 during the Rome Food Excel Fair, the best pizza makers from all over the World competed in different categories to win the World Champion Title.
After two days of competitions in which hundreds of pizza makers from all over the World competed, the awards ceremony of the World Pizza Championship - Pizza Senza Frontiere took place.

SPECIAL AWARDS
Pizza in rosa: Federica Samarani won the award for being the woman with the highest overall score in one of the competitions
Emerging pizza chef: Massimo Leone was awarded for being the under-30 pizza maker with the highest score in any of the competitions
King of pizze romane: Cristian Tolu won the award for the best score as the total of the scores of the 3 competitions (Pizza in Teglia, Pizza in Pala, Pizza Tonda al Matterello)
In addition, all the newly crowned world champions have secured their participation by right - as finalists - in the 7th season of the TV talent show Master Pizza Champion, the first and only TV talent show dedicated to pizza, on TV from October on SKY 937.
SPECIAL GUEST IN ATTENDANCE
During the competition, numerous special guests attended the event and judged the competing professional pizza makers: Davide Civitiello, Tiziano Casillo, Luciano Passeri, Andrea Bosio, Luciano Sorbillo, Pino Arletto, Piero Asaro, Elia Pompa, Francesco Marasciulo, Clara Micheli, Raffaele Di Stasio, Pasquale Chirico, Alessandro Negrini, Thierry Graffagnino and many more.
The World Championship is organized by Ristorazione Italiana Magazine, the B2B network of reference in Italy for professional catering, under the patronage of Associazione Pizza Romana that promotes, defends, and develops the Pizza Romana in Teglia, in Pala and al Piatto con il Matterello, in Italy and especially in the World, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome and the collaboration of Master Pizza Champion, a talent TV show dedicated to professional pizza makers.
These are the statements of the organizer, Enrico Famà at the end of the event: “It was a fantastic two days. I must sincerely thank all the professionals who wanted to participate in this event, despite all the current challenges, the unfavorable calendar, and the start of the summer season. The organizational machine worked flawlessly. I must congratulate all my team, and the companies that followed us and supported us even in this new adventure. It was exciting to be able to return after some time to organize such a successful event”.
